Good morning from Alaska!

Nurses Recovery

Published

Good morning all. Here I sit almost 7 months clean, and almost 90 days clean AND sober. So much has changed for me, I'm starting at a plant nursery this week and am do excited. When I told my parents I was starting a new job I said "yeah st a plant nursery...oh my god I'm going to be a nurse again!". This story is so important to me because even a month ago I would not have found the humor in that. Another gift this past month has brought me is out dear recovering nurse in arms CSetzler. We have connected over the phone now and talk almost daily. I can not express how healing out conversations have been for me. There is nothing like being able to laugh with another nurse who gets it. I've shared so much with her, and I think a lot of that has to do with the security distance affords- it allowed for instant open and honest communication- after all- what could this other amazing human being want from me other than communication? I have often wondered about all of you, these caring people with such difficult struggles. When you don't post for a while I wonder how you are. We really are quite a peculiar family. I have to say my new found friendship has opened the world for me. My world was so small for quite some time, and now it stretched across the country. I hope you all find a friend like this, it is incredibly healing. Have a wonderful day all! Keep on keeping on!

So sorry about all the mistakes in that post...phone key pad...Eash.

Twoyear you have been an amazing support and someone i look forward to our conversations and ability to laugh and be super duper honest. This forum has been a gift from God and your friendship has allowed me to trust and the fellowship makes my days a little less overwhelming and lonely. I pray other nurses here reach out beyond the forums to communication on a more personal level as in the rooms. It works wonders it really does. Hugs to my dear friends here.
