Any nurses in recovery in Austin /San Antonio texas area

Nurses Recovery

Published

Hi,

Looking for any nurses in Austin or San Antonio area. I am struggling with finding peers for support. I am in tpapn, almost 6 months sober. Would love to be able to talk with someone in the nursing profession. I often feel disconnected in AA meetings as a nurse. This forum is great but I also need to be able to talk to a live person. Thanks for your support.

wow this is scary. I am 2 and a half weeks from finishing IOP and going into the PNAP nursing support group. I had a feeling this is not simply a support group for nurses but a monitoring program. Complete honesty is something I strive for in my recovery and this scares me to share details in the group about my life as an addict. guess I will save it for my sponsor and aa meetings but even there is it safe?

My recovery did not include groups that were led by monitors so I don't have personal experience with them. However, I have been reading many, many stories from nurses in recovery in the 9 plus years I have been clean and sober. I have read quite a few accounts of people getting "ratted on" by the leaders of these mandatory "support" groups for monitored nurses.

I would keep any personal details to myself and my sponsor if you don't want to get burned. Remember you can never "unsay" anything and it could come back to bite you.

Good luck!

Are you wanting to talk with a TPAPN nurse? I will answer any questions I can for you.

The above post was directed to lolly. Sorry I did not put that in the above post.

Hi Oogie! Thanks for replying. Would like to talk with you. I would like to talk to you just about General nurse things. I'm lost here in San Antonio. I'm on probation and now am scared they are going to revoke my licence because it became revoked in Missouri. Also having a hard time with employment. Ugh! Can we chat sometime?could use another RN to speak with. [email protected]

I could then email my number. Is that ok?

Sincerely Lolly
