how do you get started in staff development
- 0Feb 21, '10 by odinhoub2422I was wondering what I need to do to prepare to some day work in staff development? I am planning on getting my MSN Do I need a certain amount of years in clinical setting too? if so what area? would teaching a CNA class help, if so how do I get started doing that?
- 0Mar 18, '11 by dderryMy experience is working in LTC for 17 years as a RN supervisor. I started teaching CNA classes about 6 years ago. Recently my employer has decided the facility needs a full-time staff educator. So that is what I do now. I have no further education, but am looking into certification.

This is where MSN comes in. You will probably take some classes from that department (vs. nursing school). I did. If you join NNSDO you will learn a lot by being on their email newsletter and by surfing their site. Go online to learn more about teaching adults. Good luck!
