Nursing Grad from the PHILIPPINES

World Registration

Published

hi guys.

i just need to ask to be sure, actually been searching through the net and i ended up here. i just dont know exactly what to do with my NCLEX application.

for now i got question and hope someone can answer me, it might be an obvious thing for others but im not really sure bout it. thanks in advance.

* Should i wait for the time that my school would be able to complete for my request of transcript before i apply and pay for the Licensure by examination?

Or i can apply and pay for now and the school would just send it to BON as a completion for the application? like a follow up requirement

What state are you trying to apply for the NCLEX-RN?

If it's CA and you graduated after 2005, you should look into other states that are not enforcing the concurrency rules (since Nov. 2011 and a very old regulation since 1987 (CA)). There have only been very little approvals of PH grads and nurses since the Nov. 2011 strict enforcement date and figuring that over 33% of PH applicants try for CA, so thus my assumption.

If it's not CA, then there are other states that are not so restrictive.

If you decide to stay in CA, then just know the application fees are non-refundable and you have 3 years to complete your application process to comply with the requirements.

What is this concurrency issue?

I suggest that you take some time to read in this forum threads of what's been making 10,000 plus applicants from the PH having to look into other states unless they get so lucky to find the deficient courses to re-take and can afford the tuition fees. It can be done but just know there are several thousands not only from the PH to re-take these courses but from all over other countries that are part of the US states and many have a few years of a waiting list.
