Nursing after immigration through marriage.

I'm currently a student nurse from the UK studying Adult Nursing. My partner, however, is American and we've been discussing our options for the future and what will happen once I graduate. Before we met I had my heart set on moving to America eventually anyway, and had been looking into how to go about that and the immigration routes and sponsorships and such. However given that our relationship feels like it's getting more serious, I was trying to find out about what happens if you gain a green card through marriage, as opposed to through nursing itself? How do you go about becoming a nurse in the US in that situation? Are there different requirements? I couldn't find anything online about it because all the things I found were aimed at people immigrating as nurses, and not as spouses. Any insight would be hugely appreciated!

(Also sorry if this is the wrong section! I'm new to this site)

Requirements are not different if you already have a green card. Generally your transcripts have to show both clinical and theory hours in Paeds, Obstetrics, Mental Health and Adult to meet state requirements

I see, thanks for the reply! Is it possible to achieve these hours within the US in any way? Is there any form of additional training or education you can do to make up for these discrepancies in the UK degree, or would it all have to happen prior to me moving to the US? If I have to do it the long way around then I will of course, but long distance is hard and my partner and I want to try and minimize the amount of time we have to cope with it as much as possible.

It can be difficult. You could try whilst still in nursing school try and get the hours you need as last I heard there was no way in the UK to make up these hours post graduation. In the US the difficulty is finding a nursing school willing to accept you just for the hours required for the state
