HELP- Registration process from Canada to Australia

World Registration

Published

To all my fellow Aussi Nurses,

I am an RN with 4 years of bedside nursing, my new goal for 2016 is to move to Victoria, Australia by September/October. I'm not too worried about the visa because i am under 30 and qualify for the working holiday visa. My major concern is the awful registration process. I am so confused and get a headache every time I look at the AHPRA website. I would love to hear from any international nurses who have had to go through this process and if you would kindly share any tips to help me do this right. I know this will be expensive but I am trying to make a check list to make sure i do not forget anything.

For anyone also looking to apply/register please comment below so we can work together to make this checklist and do some research to easen the workload. I've gotten some great pointers from some of these threads but they are all from 5-7 years ago.

I was also wondering if it would be easier to do a bridging program- would i still have to go through the same lengthly registration process? It costs $12500 so if i don't have to then i'll try and avoid it.

Any information would be greatly appreciated as I am finding this process very stressful. God bless and thanks in advance.

Does the working holiday visa apply to RN jobs?

I believe so, I remember a friend years ago visited Australia with work visa and also was able to spend time visiting places
