Foreign RN from Philippines!! NCLEX, CES-pending!Plz help!

hi nurses!!! i am a registered nurse from the philippines, finished my BSN there as well and a US citizen. i am currently residing here in Nevada. i understand that the first step for nclex application for Nevada is to register/purchase the credentials evaluation services or CES by CGFNS. did that, so CGFNS is currently waiting for some documents from my school and licensing authority back in the philippines. i am soooo excited to take my test that i log-in to my cgfns account like everyday!!!

so my questions are:

1. do i have to take an english proficiency exam (toefl, ielts, etc...)???
   
2. how long does it usually take for CGFNS to finish the CES??? they have this expedite feature and when u get it (costs $250.00) they will be evaluating your documents within 10days once they received everything. i wanna know if it'll make much difference if i have it expedited and whether its worth the price. :)
   
3. and just now, i got a message on facebook from a friend who lives in san diego california. she is also a BSN graduate from the philippines. she had already got evaluated for her CES but then she got a letter from the california BON somehow saying that the BSN graduates from the philippines do not have the same curriculum which they require in california (something like that...) and that they would need to go back to school for some subject areas they did not meet. she was sooooo frustrated, she doesnt know what to do now except try to take an LPN exam instead... and it makes me worry about my application too... is there a possibility something like that would happen to NV BON too??? i just hope there wouldn't be any problems

The short answer is "yes", NV has recently been enforcing the concurrency rules and some have been denied due to lacking a course or two or insufficient clinical hours. It really depends on how your transcripts are processed AND how the PH courses were conducted.

There are several other states involved.

NV BON requires a copy of the PH nursing license, good thing you have your PH license, but this is for those without a PH license, there could come a time when the BON's will not care any more of why no local country nursing license, other than if no license can be verified, then the application will be denied. In CA alone, there's been cases of fraudulent applications and even in the Norway forum tab, the nursing board in that country has been hit. These PH scammers and fake "nurses" are too much and one probable reason to close the doors outside of the low demand for PH nurses and that goes for anyone country, where the locals are having a tough time finding a job.

I highly suggest that you read almost every title topic in this form to get a better understanding of the situation at hand, not only for yourself but for your friend and your other friends you may be facing the tough road ahead.
