Kaiser NP Salary?

Specialties NP

Hey guys, I may have a potential opportunity with Kaiser. Of course the recruiter is going to ask me what my desired salary is... Can anyone who works at Kaiser or had an offer share what the numbers are? I live in Colorado and I'm a relatively new graduate. Been in specialty practice for 5 months. This is for family practice.

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

So before anyone asks for my sources the following is all anecdotal so feel free to continue or skip it now.

I can't speak for NPs but the physician information I have heard is the pay and potential retirement benefits are incredible but there is usually also the "golden handcuff" caveat mentioned. Note I'm not disparaging that because I'm all for killing yourself now to reap the rewards later but I don't usually see that determination in the younger generations or a majority of NPs.

Specializes in allergy and asthma, urgent care.

I quickly looked at Glassdoor.com to see what the salary range was for Kaiser ambulatory NPs. It listed a range of $91,000-$126,000. This may give you a ball park idea of what you should ask for. I hope they have good benefits. I don't know if the whole "golden handcuff" thing is true, but only you can decide how much of your life you want to give over to work in return for pay/benefits. There is nothing wrong in wanting a balance and not being an indentured servant to your employer.

Specializes in ACNP-BC, Adult Critical Care, Cardiology.

I heard similar experiences as Jules. Here in Northern California, Kaiser offers one of the top tier incomes for NP's.

Southern California, anecdotal from a friend, about 65/hour, that's with over 5 years NP experience. I would say aim HIGH let them counter.
