interview

Specialties NP

just had an interview w/ a family dr. and np and liked the place but we didn't talk numbers which is important to me. I left the interview stating that I would call them next week(be out of town the rest of this week) should I have them put together a proposal of benefits and salary numbers and what exactly entails my responsibilities. It seems like alot of work the np now goes to the n.h. from 7:30-9 then she sees patients at 9 in the office till 4:45 and occasional sat.

Question about salary i looked it up and the median is 78,000 for my zip code should I anticipate more? (im a new grad too). I was thinking if they asked to say approx 80,000 i make approx 71,000 as a nurse right now and would have to make more than that.

they give 2 wks vac, 7 days educ leave, $ ceu, health benefits, malpractice insur. they seem pretty laid back but are workers...

Read my other recent post and replys about "negotiating" that's the title.

If at all possible don't say the first number, say you think you should be paid fairly according to the contribution you make to the company. Get them to make the first offer. If you say 80 then that will be your max. offer.

Get the book CorO mentions in the negotiating post.
