Hi to all,

I will be taking my certification soon for the adult nurse practioner. Can someone tell me what to focus on and is the test very complex.

I took the ANP exam several months ago. I thought it was a complex exam. Have you taken an a review course? Are you reviewing from some different review books such as Fitzgerald or Leik? I would focus on what the Fitzgerald review book have in them. This is how I studied: I reviewed my class notes, then I studied from review books, and then I did a bunch of review questions. That seemed to do the trick for me because I passed on the first try. Try not to get too worked up just before you take the exam. I became very anxious just prior to my exam and it made taking it that much more difficult and I started to forget things while I was taking the exam. Then I went back and reviwed. So, study hard and let us know it goes. Good luck!

Hi, I took the apea review, but i still dont feel confident. I also have the Fitzgerald and Leik books. Can you tell me what are some of the question you got.

We do not discuss specific questions from the exam as that is against the TOS here at the site. When you take the exam, you sign stating you will not divulge test content.

I do wish you well with your preparation and the up-and-coming exam.

I agree with the above poster. We really aren't supposed to discuss specific questions. I took the ANCC ANP exam and studying with the Fitzgerald materials did help. Good luck!

It's like childbirth, you blank the test after its over. I felt like Fitzgerald prepared me very well-I took her review course and reviewed her book (except the stuff relating to peds/OB). I actually thought the ANP exam very manageable. I reviewed the entire book the next year for the FNP which I felt was a more difficult exam-but maybe I was less prepared, I don't know. If you've done your homework with one review book or another, paid attention in class, and put your time in at clinicals-you will be just fine. A little pre-test anxiety is good, it keeps you on your toes. Too much is no good, but a little is fine. Good luck!
