I am an ADON in charge of a 47 bed unit. I use the internet to keep me informed. I use the boards like this to find out what nurses are complaining about and to see what I can do to prevent my staff from the same complaints.
I have e-mail pals in other parts of the country that keep me informed of what is going on.
I e-mail the members of my nursing organizations to keep them informed. If you have any specific questions please e-mail me at [email protected]

I use the net for this exact method of communicating with other nurses. I also can seek out legal issues, medication alerts, regulatory standards (via hospitalsoup.com), etc. It is a great souce of all kinds of information. Don't know what I would do without it - wish more info was on, and wish we had a nurses chatroom. I am sure it would be a tremendous help to all of us. Good luck

All this internet business is new to me. A great wealth of information is out there, whether I find it correctly or stumble across it, it's there. I use it for staff problems to disease states to management articles for my assignments.Bartsaunty
