How hard is it in the Charlotte area to get into Nursing school?

Not to discourage you, but it is very competitive to get into a nursing program over here.

Are you in Nursing school? How long did it take you? Should I just go for my LPN then once done with that get all my pre reqs? I am not sure how and what is the best way to go about this.

I feel so discouraged that you say that. Some people say that and others tell me to go for it anyways. I feel very confused!!

I'm in a BSN program. I have about 2 1/2 semesters to go. I had good grades and my science GPA was about a 3.5 give or take. I have an allied health care degree and have over 3000 hours of patient care experience. It took me about a year to get into a nursing program.

I was turned down from at least 3 nursing schools around the Charlotte area. So, yeah...I was a little discouraged...at first. I waited and applied several times to get into a program. Do you know what the most frustrating thing about the waiting game is? That the surrounding nursing schools keep changing their entrance criteria. This is based on my experience. The schools always implemented something new each semester. For example, the TEAS exams, CNA certificate....and so on. It gets frustrating. In the back of your mind, you already know what needs to be done. Just do what you think is right for YOU.
