sore bums

Hi guys,

Has anyone out there got a nursing policy for sore babies bums. we are currently looking at cavilon, no sting, has anyone had much success with this.Or is zinc and castor oil still in fashion? Thanks a mil.

I hate Desitin with a passion...that stuff turns to concrete when someone puts an extra large gob on! LOL! We use alot of vaseline and aquafor. Some parents bring in Pinkvax (I think that is how it's spelled...it is pronounced Pink Salve though LOL) and it has calamine and some other things in it...it works really well...I used it on my daughter! :)

The non-generic aquafor is fine for underlights, the generic versions of it have some other type of oil in it that will literally bake the baby! EEK! We use it on our itsy bitsy's too to help keep their skin from sloughing and we don't have to worry about it burning them. The only bad thing is that the kids are super slimey sometimes, especially with the humidity in the bed...bleh!
