I 100% agree with kadillyflopper
I currently am in my final semester at SUNY Plattsburgh and I couldnt have asked for a better experience.
You get what you put into it- I have made everlasting friendships with my peers as well as my professors. I gave up a lot of my "social life" (but also worked 20-35 hrs a week as well) to commit to my studies and it has all proved worth it. SUNY offers an amazing program with professors that continually strive to make students be the best that they can. I am beyond excited for graduation and entering the "real world" of nursing in just a few short months. I am confident that the education I have received will make me all the better in my future practice. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a message-- I'd be willing to ease your fears/concerns as much as I can.
Also-- I too did not follow the usual "4yr plan" as I entered the program as a sophomore. I had previously taken all of the gen eds, Bio, Chem, Microbio, Stats, and the psych classes as well. When I joined my class I had to take Nutrition and A&P in my sophomore year and then followed the sequence for the rest of the semesters. I think having completed those classes previously was a life savior for me-- I had more time to focus on the nursing classes and the information made more sense.
Good Luck to you!! I remember the "Waiting Game" and how anxious I too was. I did not find out until the beginning of April so hopefully you will know soon if you dont already know by now!
