U.S.A. New York

Hello all,

New on this board was just curious if anyone on here was applying to Saint Pauls School of Nursing for the January 2015 semester. I was also curious if there was any current or previous students that could answer questions regarding scheduling there and general inquiries.

Thanks look forward to replies,

Nicholas

I don't know what to make of this school. I hear some good things then I hear some pretty awful reviews

I will be honest with you, If I applied to another school and got accepted, I would've chosen the other. But every school is different and has their own headaches. How I see it now is that i'm here to get my education so I can sit for the Nclex and begin my career. None of the crap we endure with St. Pauls administration is going to keep me from my diploma, especially because Sallie Mae is going to want her money reguardless if I graduate or not! ? They are completely revamping their policies for the incoming class which is awesome, one thing I can say about the staff there now is that if you go to them with a complaint (professionally) they LISTEN and MAKE CHANGES. Hence, the incoming classes are benefiting the most.

I really wanted to attend this school, and not pay attention to the reviews. I decided to experience it myself since I do want to become a nurse. sigh...I passed the entrance exam, and passed the HESI after the 2nd attempt and wanted to start school in May 2015. I stayed up watching videos on youtube to assure that I would pass the HESI. I passed! Also had my interview with the president of the school. All went well and I knew I was on my way to starting. The staff was very diligent about trying to get me started and I was happy about that. I spoke to Ms. Durant, Director of Admissions and was assured that I would start end of August. Here we are now, 8/11/15. I received a call from Ms. Lopez advising me that I will not be starting and that more qualified candidates were eligible and I could attend Saint Paul's Staten Island or start in January. Winters are brutal in New York, and miss a class or 2 and that is $48K washed down the drain, let alone a 2 hour commute one way via MTA on a good day! She told me I can try for January. In my head, I say to be overlooked again and write a review. I wrote it and as I kept writing I would get more mad! I am going to walk away from this situation in peace, and attend a 4 year school and go for an MSN upon completion of a BS in Biology. I am disappointed in what I have experienced, but in the end I now feel better about the outcome and moving on.
