Mildred Elley

U.S.A. New York

Hey everyone, I am currently a student at LaGuardia Community College and this will be my second semester but I am getting really discouraged with the whole nursing process. Even with good grades, you are not guaranteed a spot in their nursing program. I passed the Tease test only for the LPN, but now I am trying to get into Mildred Elley for the fall 2013. Has anyone gone there recently? How is there program? It's a lot of money so I want to make a wise decision before leaving CUNY. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

hi what school did u graduate to be a nurse?

what is Boces? can u pls explain?

thank you this was very very helpful!

i graduated from Mildred Elley last year as a LPN....i would only recommed going there if you have a full-time job and can only attend night/weekend classes. Like any other NYC school ME has its pro and cons.

Hi I was wondering if the admission process and scheduling are still the same? The last I heard there were two exams to get in and the weekends including Fridays for the program. Do you mind sharing your pros and cons? Last thing did you have any trouble finding a job?

When i joined the program it was a bit hectic and crazy but i stayed with it....once i accepted i was automatically placed in the MA (mind you the MA program is not what i signed up for). Apparently, two to third years ago you were forced to join the MA until you test out. In order for you to test out you had to take the TEAS and have a B+ and above in all of your core classes. I was one of the lucky few that was accepted into their LPN. As of today, i hear its different i heard, like you said, you take basic math and reading test and i think the TEAS to determine your eligibility into the LPN. I believe the day and evening are still offered but check with admissions...still studying for the boards...decided to go back for my ADN. Since most job are looking for experience......good luck

Thanks for the info good luck with your boards

Hi Blue how was the nclex?

hey,

Preparing to take it within the next couple of weeks...did you decide on ME?

FYI....take the boards as soon as you can (right after you graduate)....don't wait

I'm still on the fence about it. The price is really what is bothering me about it. After finishing the program do you believe it's worth the amount they charged for tuition? Do you feel that you we'll prepared for the nclex

honestly....no i would go straight for the RN, if you can.
