Hello NYC nurses. I am an ER nurse in Maryland and want to come up to NYC more than you know. Here is my problem:banghead:, I need info!!!! Let me tell you some stuff about myself so that I can get the best help from you all.

1. Have been an ER nurse for 6months - a recent graduate - have my Associate's at present time.

2. I have my ACLS BLS and will be getting my PALS shortly

What I would like to know is:

1. What is the nurse patient ratio in the ER and the ICU. Not interested in other floors so please don't give that info.

2. Are days or nights better, if you can even get an option.

3. What is the average pay for someone with an associates.

4. What are some of the better hospitals to work for.

This is what i need to know. Please don't send misc. info. I am really trying to get this information so I can make my move. I did contact one of the hospitals and the lady in Nurse Recrut. sent me an email back stating that she wanted my resume first because I probably didn't even qualify for the position anyway!!!! I was just trying to get some information that's ALL!!:(

Thanks for all the help!!! Hope to get some responces very quickly!!!

I'd recommend applying for your NYS license. This way you can tell nurse recruiters that it's in the works, or better yet, you can SHOW them the license. And be persistent. The HHC system (the gov't funded hospital system) is supposedly on a hiring freeze....but there are a few open spots here and there--mostly due from an increase in patients from other hospitals that have shut down (I would think...). Also, if you check Mount Sinai's website, they have many nursing positions listed. They also have a nurse recruiter phone number, fax, and e-mail address.

GOOODD LUUCCKKK!!!
