Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing Program (Camden)

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

I sent my application into OLOL (Camden) and I was wondering if anyone has attended this program in the past few years? I havent really found anything on the internet about this school and I was wondering if it is a good program or not. I have read that it was good 30 years ago... but how about now? I wanted to start Jan. 2012 but they already picked for that start date so I have my application in for August 2012. As of now that is my 1st choice in schools unless I hear that it's not a great program. I am very nervous about Nursing School to start with so it is important for me to hear about the program.

Hi guys!!! I'm confused how many years the program is. Could anyone please tell me the layout of classes for your 4 years in Camden County College and Our Lady of Lourdes, like what classes you take the first, second, third and fourth year? And when do you apply if you're a senior in high schoool? Thank you

Hi guard girl, I was accepted into the Lourdes program and I start in January at Lourdes. The whole program combined is designed to be 3 years. The nursing portion of the 3 years is about 15 months straight through. I'm assuming you are a senior in high school, so I will give you the best advice I can based on that... First let me start off by saying that you should apply as soon as you can. The first and second years of classes are general education courses. You could consider some of these courses your prerequisites to the nursing portion of the program, because you cannot start the nursing portion until you complete Anatomy and Physiology I and II, English Composition I and II, Microbiology, General Chemistry, Intro to Psychology, World Civilization, and I believe Statistics. There are two application deadlines a year (October 30th and March 30). You will also need to take the TEAS test. Keep in mind, in order to apply to Lourdes, you don't necessarily need to have all of your "prerequisites", however once accepted, you need to be able to complete them all within 3 semesters. It can def. be done depending on where you are educationally and how much determination you have. I completed all of my non nursing courses in about a year, but I chose to go year round (I took classes in the summer). If you are just starting your senior year, and have not done so already, I would highly recommend taking biology and chemistry and do well in both. That way, when you start your college sciense classes, you don't need to take human biology or into to chemistry before starting anatomy and physiology and general chemistry, respectively. Also, if you have the time, and ability to do so, look into maybe taking a couple of courses at the college this year during your senior year. (Like psychology, sociology or maybe a english composition). Also, if you send me a private message, I could let you know of some great professors to take for your classes. To sum it up though, how long everything takes you is sort of in your hands...but currently Lourdes is accepting applications for the spring 2014 class, so if you think you can get all of those prerequisites done in time to start the nursing portion by spring 2014...I would say apply now, if not, apply for the deadline in March for the fall 2014 class. Good Luck!

*science not sciense...lol i do know how to spell.

Thank you so much birdigirl286!!! So basically my pre-requisites and my nursing classes can be completed in a total of 4 years? Like Take pre-requisites the first year, and then all nursing the next 3 years?

Hello, has anyone been accepted for 2013 and put a 100$ holding fee on your spot. I have and havent heard anything since ????

Hey KirstenB...were you accepted for Spring 2013 or Fall 2013? I was accepted for Spring 2013 and sent my $100 holding fee in back in January. I didn't really start to hear much from the school until about August. So if you were accepted for Spring 2013 I would contact them immediatly because there is a lot of stuff that you would need to get done before DEC. 7th, and the orientation is on Tuesday NOV 27th....if you were accepted in to fall 2013, you may not start to hear from them until the spring. Good Luck!

Hi ladies!I am in olol right now and I love it! KirstenB if you are in fall 2013 you won't hear anything for a while. Good luck girls I hope you enjoy OLOL as much as I have so far!

Hey kn1234, I'm happy to hear that you like the program so far...if you don't mind, could you answer some questions for me...where have you been doing your clinicals? Also, is there any advice you could offer someone starting the program? Thanks!

hi birdigrl! i sent you a message!

I begin OLOL Fall of 2013. I have been moved up on the list from start date of Spring 2014. I have a family vacation booked and paid for the last week in August. From what I can gather class begin that week. Can anyone give me feedback on when classes begin typically for Fall and what is the lifespan orientation? When will I be able to register for Fall classes? I have taken the the Developmental Psyc class already so it looks like I will just be taking the two Nursing classes NOL 110 & NOL 120. Typically what days do they fall on and are the start times all different? I am so excited and have so many questions :)

You can register when CCC registers in the spring. Class start around the 24th but nursing 1 starts a week before that (orientation).

Hi,

I am currently applying to the program and I was wondering if anyone else was currently going through the process.
