Today, Feb 6th I was scheduled to take my NCLEX RN exam in central NJ. I am currently an LPN and this becoming an RN has been a long time goal of mine.

Anyway, they had been forcasting snow since early in the week, and Thursday had changed the forcast for some of the state of NJ as blizzard conditions. Where I live they were calling for blizzard but not up in central NJ where I was going to test. I called the testing center Thursday(2 days prior) to ask what the possiblities were that they would close. I was told "Well, the last time we had a foot of snow we didnt close" I live an hr away from the testing center. Since it was looking like it was going to be possible I could get snowedin and not be able to drive up without difficulty, I decided to book a hotel room the night before, 3.6 miles away from the testing center. I had called the testing center friday(one day prior) and asked again what the chances of closing were. "We dont know, but we usually dont close. There will be a call the number in the morning and there will be a recording and instructions on what to do next". They told me they wouldnt make their decisions till last minute. Why, I couldnt not understand when everyone else(offices, etc.) were closing early friday.

I drove up to the hotel room. Went to bed at 9pm; no snow in site. Get up at 5am this morning, MAYBE an INCH on the ground. Call the testing center: CLOSED. The only instructions were to call the 866 number and reschedule(not open on the weekend) or re-schedule online(it wont let me since my test was scheduled for today). It is NOT my fault it snowed. They need to make accomodations for the people they cancelled on(like, keeping the centers open late Monday night and letting us all test then). I understand the snow. They should ve cancelled in advance so I didnt spend $99 for a hotel room for nothing. I am sure I am not the only one.

Has this happened to anyone else???? If so what accomodations were made? I shouldnt have to wait more that a couple days to take this test.
