Very few hospitals here hire LPNs into the hospitals. You would have more luck trying nursing homes, skilled facilities and correctional facilities.

You said you worked as an RN in step down for a year? So are you an RN or an LPN? RN's are being hired in small numbers at hospitals in NJ. However I can't tell you it will be easy to find a job, even with experience. Many hospitals in NJ have closed recently, which means a lot of experienced nurses are out of work. There are many, many RN's seeking employment in NJ so you will need to submit lots of applications and make sure that your resume makes you stand out. Good luck to you.

yeh I got my RN license october 2010 but before that I was a LPN for 2.5 years working med surg at a hospital in houston :) , now what do you think of my chances of getting hired ? I got my ACLS as well and past 6 months i've been in critical care intermediate care unit :)
