Hello!

I am a first year student at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck. It's only the beginning of school, but I have a few specialties that I am gravitating towards in my imagination. Namely, working with children in some sort of capacity (though I think I would love to do NICU one day), or possibly in psych (maybe with child pscyh?).

Eventually I will get some clinical time in peds, OB, and psych, but I am an impatient person and just can't wait!! I think shadowing someone would be good because seeing what you do once you are an RN (and not only what you are allowed to do with your instructor) would be a great learning experience.:p

I am interested in shadowing a local RN in one of these specialties for a shift.

If you would be interested in letting me shadow you and you work in one of these areas, please let me know! If you know somebody who does, maybe you can pass their info on to me (if they are okay with it of course). :nurse:

I live in Bergen County so closer would be better, but I am willing to possibly travel for the day.

Thank you so much for your help!!!:redpinkhe

When I worked as a nurse manager in Philadelphia, I occasionally set up shadow experiences in our NICU. But they involved students who were known to me or referred to me by a staff member. I doubt that you will find someone on an anonymous BB who is willing to take a stranger to work. Is there an instructor who would be willing to help you set something up?
