TMCC Fall 2011

U.S.A. Nevada

Does anyone have any idea when they will or if they have begun sending out the acceptance letters for the Fall? Its crazy to me that they wait so long to tell you. Makes it hard to plan!

I did get accepted, but because I live in Truckee, I'm still hoping for TMCC. It would mean an hour more a day studying or with my kids... I went to the first orientation in June, but the real day-long orientation is end of August. I want to see what each program has to offer, but TMCC definetly appeals to me because it is closer.

Hearing that letters will be going out t

his week our next!! Super excited!! Hoping that my 3.5ish and 90% on the HESI is enough, got my fingers crossed!

...and really must watch my spelling when blogging from my phone:nono::bugeyes::bugeyes::nono:

Damn auto-correction!

Well- here are a few questions I have to maybe help us take our minds off the mailman for a while!! :yeah:

On the bright side that we all get in..... does anyone know about the first schedule semester and what it includes?? I saw the class schedule and it looks like everything is on the main campus which is a bummer for me because I was hoping for the Redfield campus because I live 5 minutes away. But the schedule says TUES/WEDS is one class from 8-5:30? IS that possible?? And is there no hospital clinical time the first semester??

And do we need uniforms if we are only in the school lab?

Oops- I didnt proofread that! I meant first semester schedule! DUH:uhoh3:

I thought the 8-5 stuff was clinicals, we may start out in the lab, but my orientation for the other program had us in the lab for the first few weeks then we jumped right into clinicals- They even had an immunization clinic scheduled in the first few weeks. Also there are assessments that are often done off schedule. My schedule at WNC would be M-F pretty much 8-2 or 8-7pm on M-TH and Fridays assessments and clinics were TBA. Heavy!

I'm not really sure myself. I seem to remember that during that last orientation that I attended the director mentioning that clinicals ran from 6 am to 6 pm twice a week. I also specifically remember her saying to expect clinicals beginning this year that would run from 6 pm to 6 am. Apparently it had something to do with the increased demand on the hospitals by Apollo and Carrington.

Ohhh......thats gonna be a challenge to figure out! Im a single mom with 3 kids...6 pm to 6 am gonna be almost impossible LOL

I will find a way though.....that was the biggest turnoff for me with Carrington aside from price!

Hopeful. Any news out there?

Carrington is Apollo (changed the name)

I guess it is going to help us get ready for the night shift...It is where almost all of us will start out!
