CSN RN Fall 2012

U.S.A. Nevada

Hi Everyone!

I am new to the site and will be applying to CSN's RN program in March. I wanted to start a thread and see who will be applying with me and how things are coming along for everyone. :) I have all pre-reqs completed with a pre-req GPA of 3.58. I took the TEAS about a month ago and I passed, but wasn't thrilled with my score, particularly in science. I got an adjusted individual total score of 74.7%. Reading: 92.9%, Math 70%, Science 60.4%, and English & Language Usage: 76.7%. I barely passed the science portion and have signed up to take the TEAS one more time in February. With my current TEAS score, I have a total of 29 points for my application. I'm really hoping to get a better score and another point or two from the second TEAS!

Please let me know if you'll be applying in this cycle. I'd love to exchange advice and information and just connect with *hopefully* some future classmates! :)

I'm an alternate for part time.

I can't wait to meet up with everyone. I have a feeling that we are going to really need each others support.

dwofford how many points do you have? I'm a part-time alternate as well with 27pts I believe.

I thought I had 28 but found out that I actually have 27. I calculated my points incorrectly.

I'm guessing the cut-off was 28. Well good luck to us both, I hope we get good news soon!

Alternates do get chosen, I was accepted a few years ago but had to decline because I had a new baby at home. Keep your chin up.

Congrats Christel and Stargurl 2006!! Hang in there Bea123 and dwofford! I know a couple of people who were alternates last round that are finishing up their first semester now!

Got my call at about 10AM this morning. Congrats to everyone and see you next Friday!

Twinkle Toez...Thanks! I am hopeful! So what are the rules on having a baby while in the program? Do you take a semester off and re-join with the class behind you? I'm just wondering if I am due mid-semester (which I'm not at this time) would I just not go that semester?

I'm not sure if there are any rules. It was a personal choice to decline my acceptance. I was not given the option to rejoin. The feeling was if I declined I had to reapply just like everyone else.

Got the call at 9am this morning! I am now a full time nursing student. That sounds wonderful, i had 30 points. YAY excited to meet everyone!

well i know this is suppose to be a board about the positive things going on, but nothing to worry about with the program its just going to be harder now for everyone else coming in...but it was brought to CSN's attention about cheating and they got mad, so i talked to some people in different stages of the program ( one 2nd semester, one in the bridge program and one graduating this spring) and exams are harder because of these "cheating parties" i dont want anyone going in blind...BUT OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE NOT TELLING PEOPLE THIS, BECAUSE IT LOOKS BAD, BUT THEY HAVE TAKEN ACTION WITH STUDENTS, SO I HEARD...if im wrong for posting this then oh well
