I just took the exam today. Unofficially I passed. Said the passing score was above a 200. I was wondering what the maximum number of points you could receive would be? What are the unofficial scores everyone else got? I know a couple of my friends got a 223, 259, and 259 unofficially.

To study I used my nursing text book and read the chapters on stroke, hypertension, and headaches (Migranes can mimic stroke). I also made flash cards for stroke terms, Diplopia, Vasogenic Edema, Cytotoxic edema, Dysesthesia, and so on. I was told that the practice questions that you can purchase online were just like the exam and they were. They were a great study tool. I also downloaded the outline of what was going to be on the test and reviewed what I didn't know.

    It's $85 for 75 questions if you are a non-member.
$65 for 75 questions for members.

For anyone that has taken the SCRN exam, how are the questions formatted? Are they knowledge based, or scenario/judgement based? I just don't know what to expect for a 170 question exam solely on Stroke. Thanks!!

I took the exam today. They no longer give unofficial results. Bummer. Does it really take nine weeks to get results in the mail? That seems like such a long time!

I took it today. It's was all mult choice. It covered both types of stroke, diagnostics, which area of infarct will produce which symptoms, lab work, pharmacology, it will pretty straight forward, but you have to know the stuff. I am not so sure I studied enough. I didn't have a lot of motivation and waited until the last minute. I didn't look at hemorrhagic stroke as much as I should have. But it is overall pretty straight forward and knowledge based.

Yeah I took it last week and it was very straightforward. I think it takes so long to receive the results because they might wait for everyone from the May exam window to take the exam before they look at anyone's? Best of luck to you!
