NCSBN 5 week course review extlearning

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi! Did anyone do the NCSBN extlearning review online? What were your scores? I know NCSBN wants you to have 75% on each lesson. Are you reviewing all the materials before taking the post exam? If you completed a lesson, did you go back to retake lesson to improve your score? Did answers change or were they same ones? Did you think NCSBN were similar to NCLEX style questions? How many lessons did you do in a day since its only 20 q's but a bunch of material to review?

P.S. Is there SATA in NCSBN anywhere on the lesson plan?

Any suggestion....thank you! Sorry for so many questions here.

I got the 5 week and only did about half. I am more than annoyed at ALL of the grammar and spelling errors. I understand a few here and there, but man, there are at least 2-10 on each section and its KILLING me! I really hope the NCLEX tomorrow isn't like this. My ATI comprehensive review (over 500 questions) had some blatant mistakes too, but the actual exit exam (ATI) was spot on.

Hey guys how I order NCSBN course ?

I took my nclex last week and I failed :( I made some really stupid mistakes...I rushed myself and was out the door in 1 hour with 75 questions and failed. People said if you get a lot of SATA or questions in " " or if you get a lot of priority questions you are doing well and that is all not true. I got all of that and still did not passed. A friend of mine who also did not pass had similar pattern of questions...so do not listen to people when they give you such advices because everyone has a different test. No one will get the same questions or type of questions...

My first attempt I studied for 3 months (big mistake) you only really need a month to study and second, I rushed myself when you should take your time for the first 75 questions. I used Kaplan and I did all the trainers, qbank questions and sample tests and scored in 50s-70s and I still did not learn their strategies. I feel the NCLEX is MUCH harder than Kaplan and its not just me who felt that way but majority of the people I spoke with in my cohort felt that way. Kaplan's teaching is all about knowing their strategies and applying them to all sort of questions but they dont work necessarily..at least it didnt work for me or most of my friends. I listened to Feur lectures for content because my content is weak and I also found a few documents on allnurses.com that were really helpful for content. I also did Saunders questions from Saunders Q&A book which were much easier comparison to Kaplan as well as the NCLEX. I must have done over 3000+ questions and still did not pass...but I know for a fact that my issue was timing...

Now my second attempt strategy is to focus on really knowing how the NCLEX questions are designed...the book that I think are similar to NCLEX style questions are Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment by LaCharity. Majority were prioritization. I do also believe that the actual NCLEX questions are written poorly on the test and they are bound to make someone really really think about them before selecting an answer. I am also thinking of buying a package from NCSBN because they are the ones who actually write the NCLEX so I think for practice questions I am going to use their questions and for content, I am going to review my notes as well as go through the Saunders Review book.

In addition to all that, I am going to pray (which I did in my first attempt) and not give up on God and next time I know I am going to pass. I will keep you all posted! best of luck to everyone...

Haha thank you. I recd a msg posting from a user from allnurses and she gave me good advice here and I changed it to assess&safety1st. Original it was zodiac sign so ya, I will always remember her too. It will be my 2nd time with NCLEX. I have changed date 2 times, big mistake. But I had family in town and was

not able to study while family members at my house. I have date schedule and will not reschedule it again just more months away from my license and dream career.

The first week of Oct now

Welcome to our thread, welcome everyone who joins.

How is everyone?

@Assess&Safety1st yeah it's hard to study with company around. I'll be going out of town next week for approx 12 days and rescheduled my exam for November.

NCSBN was a great review source. But I ran out of time with my subscription. However, I plan on signing up again around the 1st week of October.

Comprehensive Review for NCLEX RN 2nd Ed. by Mary Ann Hogan is what I'm using now. It's more conducive for my brain than Saunders. This is it for me as I plan on PASSING this test in November. No more twiddling around :clown:

Take care and good luck!

Yes, my ncsbn expired Saturday but now I signed up for kaplan review I started today. I did 3, 50 q today. Yes, I want to do ncsbn for 3 weeks before NCLEX date. I like ncsbn the q were good and key words are underline with 20 q at a time. It's not time either. With kaplan its 50 q a time and it gives you % of area where I'm weak at :( like summary and its time. Kaplan has vid and ncsbn has no vid. Kaplan mailed a book to review and ncsbn has content per area prior to 20 q.

Not sure which one I like best of two. Both cost money and funds low :/

I hope they both prepare me to pass along with me studying content area with saundars and LaCharity.

Have a good vacation!

I used NCSBN and several other books and I got 75 questions and the good pop up! So good luck to those who are prepping to take it! Take your time, Really read the questions!
