NCLEX Drug List/Good Flash Card Program

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I found this list of key nclex drugs, and thought I'd share it as I can't seem to find a decent comprehensive list anywhere here.

I think it's sort of organized into groups. I also think it would be really helpful to find other drugs in these families. Anyway, this is what I'm working on, your mileage may vary but it was helpful to me.

I've also been using this flashcard program:

Welcome to the Mnemosyne Project | The Mnemosyne Project

For a day and I think it's pretty great. You have to program in the info you want to study, but then it asks you how well you think you know a particular bit of information, and based on that, will show you the card more or less frequently. I was working on it for lab values (I suck at them) last night and I could feel the difference of just a few hours of studying.

Here goes:

aspirin acetaminophen ibuprofin baclofen colchicine cimetidine miconazole methylphenidate lovastatin imipramine isoniazid levodopa levothyroxine bethanechol captopril chloroquine chlorpromazine clonidine diphenhydramine Nitroglycerin phenobarbitol propanolol Progesterone benztropine estrogens, conjugated acetylcysteine atropine albuterol codeiene cortisone insulin, regular insulin, isophane suspension (NPH) meperidine morphine oxytocin phenytoin prazosin prednisone streptokinase testosterone theophylline tubocurarine vasopressin verapamil warfarin vincristine (VCR) azathioprine bleomycin cyclophosphamide diazepam digoxin digoxin immune FAB (ovine) furosemide Heparin Hydrochlorothiazide ifosfamide lepirudin methotrexate (amethopterin, MTX) Zidovudine acyclovir Inamrinone Lidocaine, parenteral Procainamide

Thanks for the info. Looks like a good start. Good luck with your prep.

thanks for the info

I've been working on my list more and putting some more info into it. It's a little rough now, but I've been adding drugs as I see them in review questions (if it seems like a not-totally-random drug that I'll probably never hear about again).

Anyway, I made up a google doc of the spreadsheet I'm working on.

It's here:

Welcome to Google Docs

Let me know if you can't access it. If there is something missing that's really obvious, please let me know. I'll be adding more to it, right now I realize that I don't know much about peds, so I'm studying that instead of doing more pharm work.

August 19th, baby! Wish me luck.

ps use at your own risk. I'm not a pharm master and have no idea if these are the best drugs to study. I stole a list from another post, that I've since lost, and combined it with the 63 I have above. I'm also going to add drugs from the review book of the review class I took at some point. (Sorry for not crediting the list I stole, just so behind right now I can't take time to find it, but it was really helpful).

Anyway, no more apologies but I hope this helps.
