Odd question....

What is overstudying for the NCLEX and why would it be bad? Also, how do you know if you are overstudying?

I think that you can overstudy. There is only so much information that your brain can retain at one time. If someone is studying for 8-10 hours a day, all the information is going to run together and they will end up being more confused. Imagine trying to review 1,000 medications only a few days. Do you think there is any way that you will be able to remember which side effects go with which medications? Just because you are studying a lot does not mean that you are studying effectively. And bad study habits can actually be worse than not studying at all.

How do you know you are overstudying? I think it would be different for everyone. If you reach the point during your studying when you can't concentrate anymore or when you can't remember what you read 30 seconds ago, it's probably best to take a break.

If you numb your brain with too much time spent studying, you might affect your ability to deal with the NCLEX, so yes, I think there is such a thing. You should counteract this with some time well spent on relaxation technques.
