Crying all day! Will my NCLEX PN be voided?

I took my NCLEX PN exam today. When I came to the testing center, the ladies working there told me to take a number and wait until my number is called. When they called my number, they asked me for my driver's license and they took my picture. Also, they told me to put my personal belongings into a locker, which I did. After that, I was seated and I started my exam. After two hours, the computer offered me a regular break, which I took. At that time I was on question 79-80. I had to go to the bathroom and get a drink of water. I took my purse from the locker and went to the bathroom. I was back in about 3 minutes. I returned my purse to the locker and finished the exam in about 5 minutes because the computer shut off at the 85th question. When I was leaving, the lady who works there told me they had to file an incident report because I broke the exam rules when I took my purse with me during the break. She said that the exam instructions and rules were given to me before the exam and in them I was notified that I am not allowed to take my personal belongings during the break. I was never given the instructions nor was I asked if I understood them like I was supposed to. I did not even know there were any. If I had known these rules I would have never broken them or jeopardized my exam. Also, if I had known that my computer was going to shut off at the question 85, I would have waited until the end to use the restroom and get a drink. I asked the ladies to please check the cameras in the waiting room so they can see that I was never given the instructions and rules for this exam. They said that only the corporate office can check the cameras. I am truly sorry about all this and I was crying all the way home.

Are they going to void my test? Did anybody have this experience?

Thank you so much!

Hey Glina,

I am so happy that everything worked out for you with your nclex and you bag. I actually took my test today and I took a pen into the test center. It was in my hand and before everything the center the proceter asked me if I had anything in my pockets. I showed him my pocket because there was nothing BUT i was holding a pen (ballpoint nothing special) at the end of the test the proctor said he had to file a incident report because of my PEN! will my test be voided!! He didnt even give me a incidient number to follow up on the status. I am so scared

I passed! I am an LPN.

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. Please do not make the same mistake I did.

hi and :ancong!:

as I read your story I dont think the ppl that work in that testing center seem be doing their job. if they didnt give you a sheet about rules & regulations BEFORE you test then what was the purpose of filing an incident report  ...(any idea what happened then?) could it be just for records *shrugs* sorry im just curious.

i'm glad you passed though :cheers:and just so you know you were not the only one.

Here in CA I was given the rules sheet & when I took my break I took with me my wristlet with a pad & chapstick, compact lol nothing much but yes i had the girly days & no one made me file an incident report etc.

Anyways I wanted to mention that a friend of mine had to take her PN exam AGAIN b/c where she tested they told her they dont have anything on file that she took her test BUT she had a reciept & all they could do is let her test again for free. Now that would be a *****,sorry, but what if she actually passed, not knowing how she did b/c they lost her test!? OMG! wow so she's still in the process of taking it agen & I pray for her that nothing like that or any mishap happen to any1 stepping in to test and dealing with people who are irresponsible. i mean it makes me  cuz my friend would hav pass. I guess we just have to be careful and pray that nothing like this will happen.

Again congrats and i took mine recently also but waiting for quite sumtime since im here in CA ya the snail mail lol ok take care and thanx for sharing your story. :nurse:

WOW.... what a nail biting experience.
