Who's hiring new nurses?

U.S.A. Missouri

Hi!

I was wondering who is hiring in MO. I live in St. Louis and have applied to many places such as hospitals, nursing homes, and doctor offices and I'm not getting a replies. I want a med/surg position which one would think would be easier to get. Unfortunately I'm in a bind in relocating but I guess I might have too...I have plans of leaving for the Air Force in October but who knows if that will happen because I was planning on leaving this month or May at the latest. I graduated nursing school in novemeber and the only experience I have is my tech/secretary experience from working at a hospital for a few years. HELP!

I work in Columbia and know that Boone Hospital and the University Hospital both hire new grads. Good luck!

I will tell you I have been around the fence and worked as an agency RN in St Louis for 3 years. Good hospitals to work for include (but aren't limited to) St John's Rehab Institute (about 6 pt's per nurse and usually 6 pt's per cna on days/evenings) and 8 pt's per nurse at night. It's a good job. Then there is Barnes West County a good hospital, good staffing ratios and when I worked there as agency they provided free lunch at nights! When I worked at Select hospital it was a good hospital and payed well. Jefferson Regional Medical Center is a good hospital to work for and they are hiring new grads! Hope this helps!

You can usually tell how good a hospital is by how they treat the agency nurses!
