Starting Pay for New Grads, Independence MO?

Hello!

It's a bit early for me, but I've already started researching hospitals in the Kansas City, MO area. I have my eye on the new hospital set to open this year, the Medical Center of Independence. I will graduate with my ASN in December and relocating to that area. Does anyone happen to know a salary range for new grad RNs for that area?

The Medical Center of Independence is an old hospital. I believe that new grads start at just under $20/hr there.

There is a new hospital opening (to replace MCI and IR) sometime this spring. I believe it is called Centerpoint.

Oh I know, it's the new hospital that opens this spring that I was referring to. :wink2: I did not know that it's set to be called Centerpoint; thanks for that info! It is that facility that I am interested in...I wonder if they will have the same starting pay as MCI?

As a new grad, I made $20.16/hr working day shift at Independence Regional. I think there was a $3.00 shift differential for nocs & a $2.00 diff for weekends. MCI & IRHC will combine to form the new Centerpoint hospital this coming spring/summer 2007.
