Penn Valley Nursing Program 2014

U.S.A. Missouri

I am planning to apply to the nursing program in Aug- I will be enrolled in Microbiology when I apply, so if I do not get in then, I plan to reapply in January. I know what 3 of the points are based on, but not the others. Does anyone know what they all are? I tried emailing them, but haven't gotten a response.

Hey Little_bear thanks for answering our question if you don't mind can you tell me what the schedule is for the day program? where are clinicals located? and I noticed the schedule on the website doesn't have pharmacology or patho like most nursing programs. Is it under a different name?

Your welcome Kell, sorry I didn't see this sooner.

You'll go over quite a bit of pharmacology in the essential concepts class after the first 3-4 weeks when your mostly just studying the foundations & history of nursing, the teacher is really good too. Clinical's probably won't start until after the first 3 weeks of class & the vary based on the clinical site but the hours are normally 7-330. Last semester the clinical sites varied also between Lee Summit, Saint Lukes, John Knox Village, & a few other nursing homes I think.

For instance had clinical's every other week & had to pick up my assignment the night or two before & do all my clinical paperwork before clinical's the next day but other clinical instructors gave their students their assignments normally weeks in advance, particularly if they were at a nursing home since that doesn't really work too well in a hospital setting.

As long as you study & do the paperwork though you'll do fine.

Thank you so much for responding good luck this semester!

I have applied for this August. I'm 50. Already have a 4 year degree and have taken 30 hours in credits trying to get into a school. Even did a CNA class.

I applied on the first Thursday of August!! Anyone know when we're likely to hear back? I'm sure it will be a while, but I'm going crazy checking the mailbox every day!!
