I have been doing some reseach on some of the LPN-ADN programs in the Kansas City area. I understand that quite a few of them have a long wait list. I have looked into Penn Valley and Park University mostly. If anyone has any experience taking or graduating from a Bridge Program in the area, could you please let me know your feelings about it and if you would recommend it?

Thanks in advance.

I graduated last month from Penn Valley LPN program. I take my boards in 3 weeks, but have already enrolled with The College Network and then will continue with Excelsior College online for my ADN.

Penn Valley told us that we wouldn't be able to get into the bridge until 2010 and that is if we have high test scores and the other criteria that gets you "points." I just didn't want to wait that long and "we" having already showed commitment to Penn Valley would not get any special accomidations to get in to the ADN bridge.

I agree that The College Network and Excelsior would not be for everyone, you have to be dedicated and self motivated. I took an online pshyc class last semester just to get my feet wet to see if I would do it. Two of my classmates are enrolled along with me and we are going to support each other through this, that will help.

Right now I have to dedicate my study time to my NCLEX review. But I am so wanting to get started with my College Network books that have already arrived and are waiting for me. :innerconf

Sorry I can't give you input about program completion since I'm not there yet, but hope it gives you something to think about.
