Inver Hills/ Century College hopeful

U.S.A. Minnesota

I just applied to both Inver Hills and Century's 2011/2012 nursing program, I got a letter back from Inver saying I am included in the selection process and will find out on March 1! I have so many mixed emotions and I have worked so hard for this.. I'm scared to death and this waiting is killing me!! I know many of you are feeling the same way, let's vent!

Yeah I have a 3.72 overall GPA (I think) and a 3.58 in my core classes. Plus I had the prior degree. I was really hoping for fall but Spring is much better then nothing! I am planning on going to one of those info sessions. Also secretly hoping 13 people will not accept for fall so I can get in!

It's possible... I can't imagine how they did that at all. Looking at you, I'm suprised I got the number I did. My GPA is 3.07, but then I jhave a TON of experience... Maybe it's worth more then I thought...

Congrats to all of you!!!!!!!! The nervous waiting paid off!!!! I received my letter today and am #27 on the alternate list!!! I think this means I'm for sure in spring semester???!!!! Hooray!!! :yeah:We did it!!

Congrats Qwinlyn, I hope to be joining you in Spring!

Specializes in CNA.

I honestly don't understand how they were calculating points because all of you girls got higher numbers on the waiting list at Century, yet I got in fall semester? Doesn't make sense..

Who knows or understands their reasoning. I know I lost points at Century for not having taken any classes there. Maybe more people applied at Century? I still have two classes in progress which probably accounts for my wait list number. Oh well. Looks like I'll be meeting a few of you in Spring!

I did 35 credits last year at inver all geared at the nursing program with a 3.9 GPA overall, 3.78 science GPA, all classes completed except micro and I'm currently taking a 5 credit. All direct care hours, over 500 at Northfield Hospital, Prior degree and the magic # was 24. wow. I know suzy had an overwhelming task and most applicants who were considered also completed most everything or everything and had prior degree's. It would be interesting to see how it's actually broken down. Guess I'll start looking for my Capt. Midnight decoder ring for may 4th. I am glad I made it. The truth is there's always someone stronger, smarter, faster......but at least the waiting is over. Congratulations to all who made it in the spring, oh and the fall folks as well, you deserve it!

Drinks All Around!!

Hey everyone! Got a letter today from Inver. I'm accepted for a FALL START!! So they are up to #14 on the waitlist!

Wow! That's great to hear Lukeslichy! Congrats to you!!! I went to one of the informational meetings in May and from the sounds of it, I didn't know if many would drop so that is definitely more than I expected! Guess that means everyone from 15-65 is for sure in Spring!

Great news! Thanks again and congrats!

I was awarded a Spring semester start for Century, I was given #55 on the waitlist for Fall start to begin with, just to help anyone I can :). This letter was mailed to me over a month ago though so it's old news. Hopefully 50 people drop out so I can start right away :D haha yeah right..

Anyone who was in at Inver in the first group do you have any info you could share (either here or PM me). I am wondering if there are any dates I need to leave open before school starts for orientation sessions? Do you know what the schedule looks like yet?
