How much patient care do you need to get into Century College's nursing program?

I want to apply to Century's Nursing Program, and was wondering if any one has been accepted with 480 hours of patient care or do you need 960 hours?

Hi-

What I can tell you is I applied this year with a 3.72 GPA (with a 3.58 in my core classes), a prior degree, and only two classes left to take (in progress) and 480 hours patient care and was given a #72 on the waitlist. I would probably recommend getting the 960 if you really want to get in. Especially if you have a lower GPA... ugh

Thanks for the info... It sounds like you need a 4.0 with all LA classes completed and 960 hours of patient care to get in. Ugh! What two classes did you have left to take?

Well it really depends how they weigh things, and that is hard to find out. Maybe 980 hours of patient care is way more important then having all A's. Also I am taking courses at Inver (which is my first choice anyway) so since I have no local credits at Century that may have knocked me down the scale a bit. The two classes I am finishing up are A & P 2 and Communications. If I were you I would get the 980 hours and aim for the best grades you can possibly get.. I wish I could be more help. Have you attended an info sesson at Century? If you haven't I would go in with a list of questions ready.

Thanks for your help, I did hear that they like you to have at least 12 credts from Century.

The minimum hours needed is 480 hours (3 months full time work) but if you have over 960 hours (6 months full time work) you get extra points.
