I am new to this forum. I graduate in December and recently accepted a ICU position in a large hospital in Springfield IL. I am excited to finally be on my way. Healthcare has been my life starting as a cna to lpn and now RN. I start my BSN at Millikin University in January. I am excited and just saying hello to everyone.

Hello and congratulations!

I just accepted a position in the CICU / MICU and have orientation this coming Monday. I am soooo excited. I just graduated in May and passed boards in June. I worked two months in a Nursing home where I took care of 32 residents and had just two aids but did all nursing measures on them. It was impossible to give good care and I quit one day without offering my two week notice because the care was just not right. I am so excitedfor this new opprotunity in the ICU.

First...CONGRATS to you both!! I just have to say that I wish it were me saying that. I am graduating in August and really want to work in an ICU, but unfortunately in Missouri, I can not say it is that easy. Any information on how to sell myself? I welcome any advice on how to make them want me. I offer many years of Surgical experience and bedside ICU procedure experience, but it doesn't seem to be the selling point they are looking for.

Thanks

AND congrats again...
