LPN Bridge to RN programs & LPN Job market in MI

I'm currently a teacher in Arizona, originally from Michigan, and am going to do the LPN program here in Arizona. I would like to return to Michigan ASAP, however I am wondering how many programs they offer that are a bridge from lPN to RN and how the job market is for an LPN in Michigan while going to school in Michigan.

I don't know anything about the job market for LPN's in Michigan, but the school I am at does have a LPN to RN program. I think it's only a year, but you have to have so many work hours as an LPN before applying. I am currently in the ADN program at St. Clair County Community College (in Port Huron).

How difficult was it to get into the program you are currently in now? I know things in Michigan can be very competitive.

It is a competitive program, but I did get in on my first try. They calculate your GPA, HESI score, and the amount of pre-reqs that you have completed. I had a pretty good GPA and HESI and had all but one pre-req complete when I applied. They accepted 110 students and I heard that about 500 applied. The articulation program is also competitive, but I"m not sure how many they accept each year.

There is a bridge program at OCC too. Clueless about the job market except to say that its hard to find a job here no matter what you do these days. Lots of people leave Michigan to work, not usually the other way around.
