Hospital Jobs for pre-nursing students?

U.S.A. Michigan

I am a pre-nursing student (applying to start Fall 2009) and I really want to get hospital experience. I was thinking of doing a CNA course but I am not sure I should because it seems like even those who are licensed cannot get jobs with no experience. I am just frustrated that every job wants experience in a hospital but I cant get experience with no job! Should I bother going for the CNA license or just wait until I am a nursing student and hope to get a job that way??? I also don't seem to qualify for clerical jobs even though I have a BA, I have worked in customer service and retail but never clerical or health care.

Does anyone have the same problem? How can we get health care experience! Or if anyone has any advice on a job I should look for??? I would have to cut my hours way down at work and take a paycut to become a CNA and that doesn't even guarantee me a job anyway.

I really want to get comfortable in a hospital setting as soon as possible!

i recommend waiting until you become a nursing student. after you have completed 2 rotations you are eligible for a number of nurse assistant jobs. you have to pay to get training as a cna and there is no guarantee you will get hired. stick to your current job for now. there really is no rush to get hospital experience. a large number of the people in my nursing school have never worked in a hospital and they are doing fine in school. it is recommended that you get some experience however, before you graduate.
