Davenport LPN Program

U.S.A. Michigan

Hi all, was wondering if anyone is going to Davenport's lpn program, part time evenings. I work til 4pm and was wondering if they offer classes past that time. If so, what is your schedule like and can you go thru the whole lpn program on a part time evening basis, including lectures and clinicals.

Specializes in Geriatrics.

I am currently in Davenport's program in Warren. My clinicals are from 3 pm to either 9, 10 or 11 pm. They will advise you not to work in the program. The first semester I had classes 4 days a week, 2 evening and 2 in the middle of the day. The second semester I went 3 nights (1 lecture, 2 clinical), 3rd semester I am going only 1 night a week and a total of 6 clinicals in the summer (basically all day but only 6 total days).

I start the 2nd year (RN part) in September 2008. We will go 3 days a week all the time and hopefully I get the evening again. I think they mentioned you get what you had the first year.

A few people work full-time. I tried it the first semester, it is hard with kids, hubby, etc. If you get straight A's easily, then you should go for it, otherwise you need to work part time or just weekends.

Good Luck!
