Where do Males Nurses mostly work

Nurses Men

Published

Hello All,

I am curious to know where most male nurses work? Any information you could provide would of a great help to my in my career.

Thanks

Mito

mito,

Don't quote me on this, but what I have heard is that a lot of male nurses enjoy the excitement of the ER and ICU (especially if they are "trauma junkies"!)

Hope this helps

There are a fair share of male nurses in our OR. They seem to be especially attracted to ortho.........many tools equals more fun, of course. (grunt, grunt.) ;) You've got your drills, saws, hammers, chisels, screws, etc........what more could a man ask for???? (Oh, and don't forget the trauma cases!!!)

My best friend's husband just graduated this past May and started out in the ER...he loves it. Out of the four men from my class, 2 went to the ER and the other 2 went to ICU.

I would tend to agree. I'm in Hemo dialysis. Most of the other guys I know are in a speciality, Except for L+D. I wonder why:confused:

If you get the chance, go back and look at the student nursing board........I left you a message there, under everyone has an opinion, what is yours.......... thanks

Hey Mito,

Being a male nurse, I would have to say that most guys seem to work in ER or ICU. It's an adrenaline thing! I am currently a flight nurse but have also worked in Trauma ICU and ER. A lot of guys in the OR too! Male nurses can work just about anywhere though, I know a couple of guys who work L&D and one that works in the Nursery. There's something for everyone. Find whatever works for you:cool:
