What has anybody heard about this area called RN Health Coaching?

It seems as if Nurses are branching out into the world of coaching and helping others with weight loss, wellness and smoking cessation to name a few. Anybody got some info?

It seems as if Nurses are branching out into the world of coaching and helping others with weight loss, wellness and smoking cessation to name a few. Anybody got some info?

I have not heard about this but in general, I am very interested in getting involved in men's health nursing (something beyond merely specializing in urology). I would like to hear more about this as it seems to have points of convergence with it.

Might want to check out the (INCA), International Nurse Coach Association. They have a very informative website. Sounds like something I would do once I get my RN's...........Peace.

What - females can't be coaches??? LOL.

Sounds great, but don't get your hopes up. In the US, healthcare jobs are controlled by reimbursement. If insurers/payors do not see this as a value-added service worth paying for, those jobs will simply not exist. Despite all the big hoopla, nothing has ever really happened with "integrative medicine" as a whole. There is very little available funding in the US for preventative/wellness services of any kind. Maybe something that affluent people could pay for - like private trainers?
