Keeping a healthy back

Since, I've started my clinicals I've notice a increase in back pain. I know I need to exercise and lose weight.

I've got the diet covered and for exercise I'm thinking of using a kettlebell.

Any kettlebell users out there? Did the workout help?

I have one that I use sometimes. It's a decent aid to other lower back exercises, but I would only use it twice a week. As for exercising, I wouldn't focus only on your lower back. Work on your core and legs as well. It's hard to make a habit out of it, but I would really recommend doing stretches as often as you can. I do the X stretch that comes with p90x several times a week. I have found it quite beneficial.
