Hello, My name is Greg Sousa and I am currently enrolled in the pre-nursing curriculum at Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, North Carolina. I am originally from Newport, Rhode Island, but relocated here from Fort Walton Beach, Florida last year. In 1990 I graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in photography and since then have enjoyed a great career as a photojournalist for the Associated Press and various newspaper organizations. Working in the media has allowed me to experience some very exciting events as well as the opportunity to travel and meet some very interesting people. Although I have enjoyed a great career as a photojournalist, I felt that it was time to make a career change. I have always wanted to pursue a career and nursing, and with the steady decline in the printed newspaper sales over the last several years, this seemed like the perfect time for a change. So I began taking the prerequisite classes in Florida and now continuing here in North Carolina. My goal is complete the prerequisite courses by the fall semester and hopefully be accepted into the next RN rotation. Outside of school and work, I enjoy cycling, playing and watching baseball (Go Red Sox!), watching football (Go Patriots!), hiking, walking, reading, rollerblading, traveling, eating out, and a Grande Caffe Mocha at Starbucks.
