  1. DePaul University - Info

The GradPlus loan which is a federal loan will cover the rest. Just google gradplus and depaul and the form will come up. Or I think you can get the form through campusconnect. Good luck! DePaul is definitely expensive!
  2. another pharm question

Not to add to the confusion, but I just came across this in my med-surg book. It says that if vasopressin tannate in oil is given IM it should be administered in the evening so that maximum results are obtained during sleep. (Page 1148 in Brunner a...
  3. Somogyi vs Dawn phenomenon

Somogyi is morning hyperglycemia as a result of hypoglycemia during the night and is the result of too high of a dose of insulin at night. Dawn phenomenon is morning hyperglycermia without hypoglycemia during the night and is a result of normal cycl...
  4. Rush/Loyola's Accelerated BSN Program

I am also in DePaul's program. I have a BS in Biology and no BSN. You do not need a BSN for DePaul's program. It is a Master's Entry program for non-nurses with bachelor degrees in non-nuring fields.
  5. Look into Master's Entry programs. They are generally for non-nursing students with a BS/BA in a field other than nursing. When you complete the program you have a Master's in Nursing and are at least an RN (sometimes more depending on the program)

  7. BSN to MSN

I was actually in your exact shoes last year... different major, same school. I applied to (and was accepted to) two programs in the Chicago area that are Master's programs for students with non-nursing bachelor's degrees. Which program is right fo...
  8. non-nursing BS to MSN/CNP programs??

I was in your shoes about a year ago, so I definitely understand where you are coming from. I am currently attending a Master's Entry program at DePaul in Chicago. The program is a two year's MSN program for people with a BS in another subject and ...
  9. Nursing Program Waiting lists??

I actually applied to COD as a back up so I can only speak from my experience. You should have all of the prereqs finished (with very good grades) before applying and do well on the entrance exam and you should be accepted. They base everything on ...
  10. UIC req: Intro to Research Methods

When I was filling this pre-req, I took a Social Work Research Methods course. I believe that they are wanting a social studies based class. Before you register for a course, I would ask the advisors at UIC if the course would fulfill the requireme...
  11. Anyone applying to UIC's Graduate Entry Program?

Congrats to both of you! Acute care is such a great specialty. Good luck in the first 15 months and beyond!
  12. Anyone applying to UIC's Graduate Entry Program?

I'm guessing we've all heard from UIC by now so I will get the ball rolling on our news I was waitlisted for peds. Obviously not what I wanted, but I am surprisingly not really upset. I have a backup in DePaul and I have accepted their offer. UIC ...
  13. Anyone applying to UIC's Graduate Entry Program?

Is anyone applying for peds? Also, we should be getting e-mails by the 15th. It sounded more like we would be receiving them by this Friday! Good luck to everyone. Has anyone applied/been accepted to any other programs in Chicago?
  14. Is anyone else anxiously waiting to hear from UIC about the GEP program? It would be nice to know the other members who are biting their nails over the anticipation of receiving that letter!
  15. BS in Chem, Quickest path to RN?

You may also look into accelerated BSN programs. At least in Illinois there are one year accelerated programs. These programs are actually shorter than many ADN programs.
