  1. LPN-RN partnership in nursing-a gentle reminder

I think it's very encouraging to see both RNs and LPNs rising to the defense of ALL nurses.
  2. HANDWASHING: Male hospital staff lax

:chuckle So, Mario, you've never seen the results of a male's bad aim? I didn't there was anyone who hasn't! I just figured there are an awful lot of men with either bad eyesight, or really shaky hands!

  4. Why Nurses Leave Nursing

Excellent articles! I worked in a busy urban hospital on the oncology unit, and we did primary care. When the unit first opened, the ratio was 4-5 patients per nurse. By the time I left three years later, the ratio was 6-8 patients per nurse. What th...

  6. Just joshing, Nur20, I was being impish. I'm VERY proud to be part of the LPN "sisterhood"! I was very lucky when I was working on the floors. I only very rarely experienced the "only an LPN" attitude. Oddly, most of them came from people I worked wi...

Jobear, another area you may want to think about is Compliance. It's a hot topic right now, and there's a lot of money to be made. It's an interesting field, and nurses can contribute a lot to it. Feel free to e-mail me if you want.
  11. Circumcision Debate

Suzy, I think if you told men to put Peanut Butter on their penises, Jelly in their hair, and to play the Sousaphone during sex to make it better, they'd break their necks to do it!
  12. Circumcision Debate

It is my humble opinion that ANY non-consensual alteration of human genitalia that is done for any other reason than some necessary form of medical treatment is mutilation. I applaud the AAPP's stance on circumcision.
  13. Are you in favor of embryonic stem-cell research?

FiestyNurse expressed my thoughts on this subject better than I could. I feel the potential good outweighs the bad, and federal money should definitely be used to pay for further research.
  14. LPN-RN partnership in nursing-a gentle reminder

    BRAVO!
  15. A dose of reality I didnt need!

Please don't let that post discourage you. Nursing can be a very difficult job, but you'll never have a more rewarding career. I consider nursing the highest human calling there is. We do things for people that sometimes their own families won't do!...
