central line dsg change

please can someone answer ........ to change the hub of the dressing do you take it off with the old dressing?? or after cleaning the site?

when you are changing a central line, you remove all the old dressings first including any dressing at the hub. then, cleanse.

are you talking about the caps? or the where a dual or triple lumen meet. Generally speaking caps should be changed at least every 7 days or per your policy On any central line dressing all old dressing material should be removed and re-applied using all sterile components. We also wear a mask and are very strict about our technique...nothing sloppy
