Did anyone see the letter from the editor in Jan's issue of Nursing 2003? She stated that Med/Surg is it's own speciality...hooray!! Someone who sees Med/Surg for being a speciality in its own right!!! I couldn't find a link for it on the net, but maybe some of the more computer savvy people around here can find a link....

Yes, I read that. I'll tell you, as a student...med/surg scares me more than anything. It's such a potpourri! My classmates think I'm strange because I picked Med/surge to do my preceptorship...but I really want to work on my organization/priority skills.

I read that. I think its wonderful. It is sad that med/surg is viewed as "other" when all other floors are "specialized"
You will definitely learn organization skills!! I am glad I have such a broad experience in Med/Surg...really has built up my confidence in my nursing skills....
