I was wondering if anyone here had insight to this organization? Good or Bad info, it doesn't matter.
I found it online and saw they have a MDS Certification program (RAC-CT) for those members that complete their program. Of course my question is: Is it worth it? Will jobs recognize that & take it into account when they hire me? Since I'm currently unemployed, and have extra time on my hands, I was thinking about checking into it, if it will be helpful to me. Thanks in advance for any information. Tara

Yes, Tara, It is well worth it ! It is widely recognized and respected. I will probably pursue this, myself, in the future. Great move !!
Yes. I just resigned from a 10 month MDS position.

I've had the AANAC certification for several years, and it's definitely worth it. The course is excellent, and their website is very useful. Our facility highlights the fact that all its RNACs are certified.

Is the AANAC cert and membership still useful if a person is not involved directly with MDS? I am a manager in LTC and would love to have more education in this area. I kindof fell into my job. I love it, but my short time as a nurse (

I think it's definately a plus to be AANAC Certified.
Some of the Long Term Care Corporations pay for the AANAC Certification.
Go the the AANAC Website & look up the LTC Corporate Sponsors......:)

I joined and received my RAC-CT from them. Its well worth your $ and tax-deductible if you're working. They have great weekly bulletins online with everything from MDS questions to the financial aspects to Quality measures. Do investigate a course either in person or online from them.
