Hi, Thanks for starting a thread. I'm just finishing up with the application for UMass Amherst. I can't believe how many applicants there are for these accelerated programs. Have you applied to other programs as well?

I'm considering applying. Kinda late in the game, but maybe if I can get everything in by 2/1 than I might be in the pool with you guys! My GPA is not very high, so don't think I have a chance against those with high GPAs, but if UMASS considers the personal statement, essay and recommendations, then perhaps I may have a chance.

Also I am in CA currently...

As far as stats, what have you heard about those entering the program? Do they ALL have high GPAs? What about healthcare work/experience?

Thanks,

Michelle

Hi all,

hey!

I too applied. I am nervous too, but it comes with the territory ha! I feel pretty good though. My Pre Req GPA is pretty solid and I have over a 100 volunteer hours under my belt. I too am in California, but spent the last year taking my pre reqs in Vermont and spending time with my grandfather.

Here is hoping for the best!

Hi! I am so good glad someone started this thread since I can only find really minimal info on Umass. I submitted my app ON the Feb 1 deadline and havent heard anything, but I did hear it takes a while for them to get back to you..I'm not really sure how competitive it is? ANyone have any more info on that? I was reading older threads and they said 200 applicants and 50 spots... not terrible! Anyways, lets keep each other posted on this!

Hey guys! I applied too, and got an email confirmation that all my information has been received. So, EmmaNP, you should hopefully get an email about it soon!

I have a pretty good GPA, 3.7, and a BS in health sciences and MPH. I work in medical research now. I'm hoping that will all count for something!

I am currently taking A&P I and need to take AP II in the summer. I'm hoping the school doesn't mind that I haven't completed all these pre-reqs...

Anyways, let's all keep each other updated! Good luck everyone!

Hey guys! Here anything yet!?I didn't get into UMass Boston ABSN :( a little disappointed considering I thought my prerequisite GPA of 3.83, 100 volunteer hours would have been good enough...guess not lolAmherst said my nutrition class wasn't equivalent when I talked to an advisor in December, but said I could take it online during this semester and still be considered....maybe Boston didn't accept my nutrition class either. Anyways Amherst is my first choice and Portland Maine is my second...Boston was just another option so I'm not too bummed. Plus there 400+ applicants for 35 spots is so very competitive there. Anyways crossing fingers for you and me!!!

I applied to UMASS' fall 2012 accelerated Bachelor program as well. I am waiting to hear back with further developments to my being accepted or not. I have a strong gpa in my pre-reqs 4.0 and a 3.8 in my bachelors in emergency management. I am pretty confident. I will be moving from Florida. I also applied to University of Rochester and University of South Florida in Tampa. Good Luck to all. : )

Hi all. I've been nervously awaiting a letter with their decision, so I just checked in with the admissions department to get a sense of their timeframe. It looks like decisions will be made in another couple of weeks, so I'm hoping for a letter in early April. Good luck to all!

Thanks for the update sbromain! I'm sad we have to wait even longer though. I am so anxious!

Thank you!

Ya it sucks waiting to hear...especially when you got rejected from 2 other programs haha

But for some reason I have a really good feeling about Amherst. I hope I am not disappointed.

Any good news for anyone else at different schools?

Andrewmorgan, question: What was wrong with your nutrition class? why didnt they accept it? now im nervous about mine!
