Has anyone taken Nutrition (BIO135) online at Anne Arundel Community College? What did you think? Thanks!

I took the class a few years ago online the class required you be online at specific times, each week. I did not like this part, at that time it was for an hour there was also a lot of papers due. Overall the class is very doable on line. Good luck.

Thanks for the info! I was wondering as a backup in case I could not get my choice traditional course. For me the point of taking it online was so that I did not have to be available at specific times, as I hope to be working again soon. Fortunately I was able to get a traditional lecture. Online would be doable, but I feel that some online classes give you a lot of written work that you would not get in a traditional course, which is undertstandable, but I would prefer lecture. Thanks again

I took it 2 summers ago online. It was fine. You were required to post weekly to a forum, write a brief paper, and take oopoen book quizzes and tests. They were times, but overall, it was really really easy. The best part was doing your personal diet/nutrition project which tracked your dietary intake and expenditures. Cool stuff.

I took it this past summer ('09). I chose the online course, but there were several offerings of the online sections. I lucked out and had a professor who did not require "class participation" with posts and comments. Homework assignments, a paper, and tests were the only requirements. I actually took a weekend and did every assignment and the paper to get them out of the way.

I guess its the luck of the draw though, one of my friends also took online and had several weekly participation requirements.

Either way though, its quick and easy and if you are going to advance your degree, you're gonna need it.

That's a good idea, getting the assignments finished in advance. My luck would be that I had to sign in at certain times several times a wk for participation lol. I agree that I will need it if I advance my degree, but I am surprised that I was not required to take it for my ADN, because I don't have a thorough understanding of nutrition which is a big part of teaching. My nutritional knowledge is just of the basics that were incorporated during nursing school, so I have planned to take it for a while now. I am aiming toward the Stevenson U. articulation with AACC, which is what is actually pushing me to go ahead and take it right now.
