Just wondering if there are any people applying for the new ABSN program at University of New England in Portland Maine. I am also interested in knowing if there are any current/past students who could comment on the nursing department at UNE (likes vs. dislikes, intructors/preceptors, etc.) Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I was admitted as well.i live in houston texas and know nothing about Portland .u could email me your phone number [email protected] so we can talk about the program and housing situation over there in Portland.

Hi everyone, I just found out about an hour ago that I was admitted and I am so excited! I live in Virginia, but have been going to Maine every summer since I was little. I will join the Facebook group.

Hi SON14, can u tell me what you thought of the program please. Was it organized? were the professors helpful? Did you have to wait until the orientation before you had an idea of class times? How may days per week did you have classes during the 1st semester? Any advise you can offer would be great :)

@extrajamplease, is the fb group private. I would like to join as well please :)

Thinking about applying for spring 2016... wondering if anyone else has applied or thinking about it? I have a lot of healthcare related experience and I'm taking a CNA course, but I don't have the most competitive GPA so I'm a little worried about that....

Hi! I;m looking to apply for Spring 2016 as well, and my GPA isn't very competitive as well. Do you mind me asking what your stats are?

My GPA is 3.06, but I still have two classes to take, so I'm hoping that will boost my GPA a bit..

Thats not bad! They don't have a standard GPA either, so I think you should be fine! I called them today to check on my status. They said they would let me know by next week, so I'll let you know!

awesome! good luck!! I'm hoping my healthcare experience will help me too, so we'll see!

I have applied for Spring 2016 as well and am so nervous! I started my first undergrad as a nursing major, but got distracted along the way. I am taking three pre-requisites this summer (I have taken them before, but they are more than 5 years old) and was told by UNE that once they have those grades they will make a decision. I graduated from with a 3.45 from my first degree from USM. Has anyone heard either way yet for this coming cohort?

I spoke to the nursing admissions and they're reviewing applications today!

Hi! Anyone else hear back? Found out today that I got in for Spring 16, would love to find classmates!!
